| Neighborhood Security Lighting |
Posted on Apr 23rd, 2012 Comments (1)
Lighting in our Dearborn Hills neighborhood is critical to safety and security. Dearborn police advise that leaving house lights on is a good crime deterrent. It has been communicated to the DHCA board that lighting levels throughout our neighborhood are at the lower end of standards for a city neighborhood; there are areas of bright light and pockets of total darkness.
The CSO project, which requires the full replacement of our streets, is something over which we have no choice. However, it does present us with a unique opportunity to simultaneously upgrade our lighting at significant cost savings. While the street beds are open, the wiring can be installed for street lights at a significantly reduced cost compared to doing this as an independent project.
