The Dearborn Hills Civic Association is sad to announce the passing of Margaret Schaefer.

 

 

Margaret was a long-time resident of Dearborn Hills and a long-time Board Member and former President of the Dearborn Hills Civic Association. She was often referred to as the “Conscience of the DHCA”. She often reminded our membership that “our neighborhood is worth preserving”. Though she moved away from Dearborn Hills a number of years ago, she continued to be very involved in the Dearborn community. She will be missed by many throughout Dearborn. 

As a longtime supporter and board member of the Dearborn Symphony, Margaret’s contributions were invaluable. Her leadership of the Scholarship Committee ensured that the next generation of musicians would thrive. She used her life experience as an educator and community leader to encourage young talent, guiding scholarship recipients with both wisdom and kindness.
